Alternatively, if the application permitted, you could select the audio output right within the application itself.
Up until now, assigning applications to different sound outputs was possible using only 3rd party apps, such as CheVolume (paid with 7 days trial) or Audio Router (free), which still work ok for Windows 10, 8.1, and 7.
